Also nothing against Kromp, but how that 15% axe was obtained by Jason seems a fair bit shady as I recall. I have a hard time counting that as fairly obtained.
I'd also love to know who got all their wealth without outside means or taking advantage in some way
I think you're in a little over your depth here, Stuey.
This is unprovoked, insulting, and dripping with ignorance. I'll just wait for you to edit.
Er, I wasn't actually suggesting we compile an actual list.... That would lead to drama and accusations. But at least the drama and accusations haven't started ye..... Ah. Seems they have.
It was a rhetorical theoretical rhetoric, not a wish to make a list. Steady on folks.
Well, Max, as you know by now from your experience in [PhD], one person's success can very easily spawn jealousy and insecurity in others.
We've faced accusations of all kinds for years -- mostly nebulous and unfounded, like the one Stuey has mindlessly tossed out, but sometimes simply bizarre. For example, there was once an accusation made that [PhD] was systematically fixing prices on dragon staves. I don't know where people come up with this stuff.
On the rare occasions when the accusations have been substantiated, action has been taken to make that [PhD] remains true to its principles. As far as I understand, this makes us unique among the more prominent "collector" guilds in the game.
Regarding the Req 8 15% unconditional axe, the simple facts of the matter are:
1) Jason did not acquire the axe in any "shady" way.
2) I did not acquire the axe from Jason.
3) I traded a set of 7 items for the req 8 15 unconditional axe. Those 7 items would be the centerpiece of any collection posted here. Some of those items are currently on display in recently posted collections.
Finally, 100% of the wealth and items that Kabong and I have acquired have been earned honestly. We have never purchased gold, ecto, any other currency, or items for real money or any other alternative means. We have never scammed. It may be beyond Stuey's ability to understand or imagine such a thing, but that's more his problem than mine.
Let's get back to the items, people. Making Top 10 lists or Mount Rushmores is pointless (as System pointed out early on) and only opens the door this kind of nonsense.
Location: I would never play off Occupy Wall St. for my guild name
Guild: We Are the 1 Percent
Profession: Me/
Yeah I think we should stick to posting items. There are so many nice collections who's owners will never be named here cause people have forgotten or don't know. I and maybe others know a certain someone with 2x q7 +5e swords, q7 15^50 hammer, and a shit ton of other 1 or a kind items (not kabong) that I don't think would be named here. Same person who used to own that q7 spiked targe that has been posted here a few times recently.
Not to mention no one knows what people like guava have but I suspect some insane items there for example.
Point is that we don't know who has what and so making a list ranking the best collections of items is pointless. It's like trying to figure out the temperature of the core of the sun by only considering the black body radiation of the surface. You'll be off by like 5 orders of magnitude.

But yes, my #1 fave active collection(and collector) is Kabong. I even have fanboy hammers.
Fanboy hammers FTW!
Kabong gave me that 15/-1e Twin Hammer. Its one of the most glorious items I have tbh.
<3
ALSO RE LISTS: Honestly, why are people getting worked up? Its a fun idea, and with Guru going what's the harm in getting a consensus on what people like? At the end of the day its subjective--and I for one like to see what other people value most. No real intention to forget or ignore people; inevitably some people will be, though, that's just how these things work. I respect everyone who has posted here, doubly so those with unique, legitly attained items.
To end this ridiculous discussion about a collection top list I am posting this collection of mine, that I have never posted before and that will undoubtedly be at the top of everybody's personal ranking
note: I've found all these items myself and still got plenty of blue and purple single mods that i might be posting at a later point in time (can't post too much epicness all at once)
srsly though, I've wanted to post these for quite a while, regardless of this being the most epic collection ever or not.
also, I have duplicates of some of the posted items, so if anybody happens to have some doubles too, I'd gladly trade for skins I don't have
Tons of people missing from that list. I probably wouldn't make the top 10 and others on there as well. IMO Again as said above, it's very subjective, and can be affected by when and where and all kinds of things. Also if you are gonna have a list I don't see how Akh couldn't be at the top personally. Even quitting long long ago he had many many rare items. Of course then you have to consider the fact that he had a nice boost by catching the first trader malfunction.
Don't forget Malice Black, Rice, and loads of others. I can't think of names, but I have seen many legendary collections.
Also nothing against Kromp, but how that 15% axe was obtained by Jason seems a fair bit shady as I recall. I have a hard time counting that as fairly obtained.

Also I took screens again of all my stuff, and will try to edit and upload soon.
Malice black? he doesn't own anything he claims he does.
Nobody has ever confirmed what he has in game, it is all made up.

Well from what i know Stuey has seen as they used be guildies and all, but malice allways been quite bizarre person.
But as far as i know he doesnt anymore have anything tho that he sold em like 2010, but before that he did
Also i remember him being quite the trader in 2006-2007 and back then atleast had nice items,
but yeah i remember also the later years after he quit of hes posts saying what all he had but never showd anyone afaik, unless maybe stuey
Meh. Not gonna edit. Wasn't attacking anyone, I never claimed or said anything about you or your brother personally. You made a lot of assumptions there.
Apologizes about the axe - even though if you can read I never actually said it was true, I just remember a lot of mess over it. Thank you for clearing it up.
I am truly curious about who has and hasn't done things on the up and up. You took that the wrong way. No drama or story there. You are just creating it.
Was guildies with Malice yes, did see random items in game. Speaking of baseless "facts"

Nice white collection trademe, I never think to look at white drops to see if it could be q8 ^^
Agreed, I should have just gone that direction as really the list thing is silly.
Nice collection trademe.

Who knew that making a subjective / ''take it with a grain of salt'' top 10 would trigger everyone so deep ey.
What if I made a list of all people who ebayed shit or botted
Not so subjective, but lols.
But other then that, I see no reason too flame on stuey.
Its not like we are jealous about what others have honestly, and if we'd be having so much envy or jealousy that we wanted what they had, we'd be after it long ago.

@Stuey: No assumptions made. You were pretty clear when you said that you couldn't consider my axe to be "fairly obtained". Let me know if I read that wrong, lol. You explicitly questíoned my integrity and then went on to wonder aloud about how people have managed to do the things they've done. No drama created or literacy issues on my end...just unfounded accusation followed by inflammatory question from you. Smh
@Raptors + Pleikki: Agreed about Malice and his remaining collection. I also seem to remember him having some nice things in the first couple of years of the game but those things seem to be long gone.
@Trademe: I like that you found the value in whites. The one and only max ball hammer that ever dropped for me was white (Req 12 ), but it's special enough to still occupy a spot in Kabong's vault.
@Rice: Beautiful set of shields you have there. As usual, your stuff is super-fine.
Looking forward to seeing more collections, including the long-awaited reveal from Stuey. Can't wait to see all those dwarven axes you've been hoarding.
and dang wish I had had some kind of ....'need' to acquire some of, heck, even a piece of two of what has been listed....but my 'needs' went a different way (luny would understand)....and I am still working on getting enough wealth to afford the last few 'pokemons' that I dont have (outside of the need to have at least one of all of the unique skins...)
ah well....at least I can gaze upon what others have and been happy that some of the best items are in a good place
I'm with you, Burnsy. We've all learned a lot from each other over the years and Guru has played a huge role in that. Maybe one nice thing to do as a goodbye to Guru might be to pay tribute to our heroes, our teachers, our inspirations, and our mentors as collectors.
In particular, two people stand out for me: Chaos Theory PVP (aka Shantel Melina or Riven Hawkmaster) and The Herbalizer. When I started out collecting and trading, both Herb and Chaos Theory were well-established giants in the game. They both always took the time to answer my questions, help me learn how to evaluate items and prices, and they absorbed my fanboy gushing with humor and humility.
I have no idea if either of you check in on Guru anymore, but I just wanted to publicly thank you one more time before this site goes black. It's an honor to have both of you as officers in [PhD]. It's the best I could do to repay you for your kindness and generosity, but it's not nearly enough.
